The Noise From Above

It's been a noisy few days at the library, with mysterious thundering constantly descending from the workers up above. Big changes are taking place upstairs as the space is stripped bare and made ready for the upcoming development. To some, it may be a happy day, to others it may be a sad one: The orange carpet has officially left the building! Well, on the second floor at least. After a full day of scraping and tearing, the fruits of labor are evident.

Next on the list of deconstruction is the opening of the walls and the sky light.

As the work continues in the partitioned-off upper floor (and on the roof itself!), the little library downstairs continues to be a place of mysterious noises whose sources cannot often be located.

Noise coming from outside the library, however, can be more easily traced to its source. The first trees have come down in the immediate vicinity, making way for new front entrance of the Heaton Family Learning Commons, which will face the center of campus.

As far as we can tell from our limited perspective, the work seems proceeding at a good pace, and it seems that a lot has already been done in a short amount of time!
