Demo Days (Week 1)

It's been a noisy few days here while demolition begins on the library. Ceiling tiles and lights are torn down, paneling is stripped from outside, and walls are demolished and re-built to partition the open portion of the library from that under construction. The sound of drills, hammers, and unidentified crashes are a near-constant right now, but the first glimpses of big change are exciting for all of us.

Contrary to how it may appear...

True construction is finally underway, but don't let our appearance deter you! The library IS open, with functional computers, and a soon-to-be-functional printer, copier, and scanner!

Back Once More

As of today, Monday, July 20, the library staff is back in the library where we will remain for the duration of the renovation. We can be reached at our usual extensions and our limited collection is once again available for use by patrons and students.

Though it doesn't immediately appear that any big changes have taken place yet, there's a feeling of anticipation throughout the building itself.

Temporary Relocation

Because of comfort and safety concerns, the staff of Beck Library has been temporarily relocated while the very first stage of construction is undergone at the work site. Anyone needing to use computers or to get help with research can find the library staff in Computer Lab 287 in the Business & Health Building during normal library hours.

Our temporary relocation is expected to last one week and we hope to be back in the library on Monday, July 20.
Oh yes, they mean business!
