Michael Clements Photo Update 3/21

Today's photo update includes a lot of images with the word "finishes" in the title. That's encouraging! As we draw farther into Spring, we gain a better and better picture of what the future completed space will be like. So far, it's clear: light is the key feature of the Heaton Learning Commons' aesthetic.

No big news or changes to report this week. Construction presses forward and the library continues to do its best to meet the needs of our students.

Photo Update from Michael Clements 2/8

Work continues on the Heaton Learning Commons and students continue to filter through the temporary library despite the noise and other disturbances. Though we are seeing fewer students now than in our previous location (where we could be reached via the Business and Health building), the staff here is still doing its best to meet the needs of those students who come in for help with research, textbooks and answer keys, and simple print and copy jobs.

Having toured the construction area ourselves, the library staff can attest to the progress taking place here at the BC3 library. It is far from quiet as construction continues, with new windows being cut and new walls being raised on the lower floor.

Photo Update from Michael Clements 1/25

It's been a bit noisy here once again as construction continues. Nonetheless, the new temporary library space is being discovered and explored by students as the semester begins.

Just looking at the photographs of the interior spaces upstairs, with the skylight open and the glass storefronts installed, it's easy to see that the Heaton Learning Commons will be a beautiful finished project.
