This entry contains two weeks of updates from Project Manager Dan Kiefer, as I myself was out of the 'library' for the past week. 

It seems a lot has been accomplished in my absence! The outside of the building is looking absolutely stunning, much closer to a finished project that will welcome students to its doors. Inside, finishes, fixtures, and shelves begin to fill the space, making the interior of the Heaton Learning Commons look more and more like a true library-to-be.

For the time being, the library staff can still be found in BH 186, where we prepare for the enormous amount of work to come in the next few months.

Future offices are taking shape in the new Heaton Family Learning Commons as the library staff sets up temporarily in BH 186. We now have our own computers and phones hooked up here in the Business & Health building, so anyone needing to get in contact with the library staff can now do so through the traditional means. 

In the meantime, we hope that everyone is enjoying the stunning changes occurring to the outside of the Heaton Family Learning Commons. It's beginning to look more and more like a finished product!

Final Move Out



As of Thursday, May 5, the library staff has officially moved out of the old BC3 library for the final time during renovation. The next time the staff is back in the BC3 library building, it will be in order to move in to the new Heaton Family Learning Commons!

 

 

 

Until that time, the library staff can be found in BH 186, on the lower level of the Business & Health Building. Though we are still in the process of moving into this space temporarily, we will have access to our normal phone extensions once settled.

 

A final farewell is bid to the old library space as we look forward to the new space we will move into this summer!

 

 

Updated Summer Information

We would like to remind students and faculty once more that the BC3 library will be closed as of Friday, May 6. 

Also, our temporary location during the Summer has changed! After May 6, the library staff will be working out of the Business & Health building, in BH 186. During the summer, library staff will be present in this location each day that the college is open, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Student computer use and printing will still be available as always in the BLC, but students needing assistance with reference questions or library resources can visit the library staff downstairs in BH 186. During this time, staff will still be reachable by our current phone extensions, posted on the Contact page.

During June, July, and August, library staff will be transitioning into the new building, so all staff may not be available at all times, but we will make every effort to meet the needs of students and faculty as much as possible.

The Heaton Family Learning Commons opens the week of August 22! We thank you for your patience and support during this time of transition and are eager to enter the final stretch!
